LTE: Blame the selfish boomers!

The seeds planted 40 years ago by a generation of self-serving brats have morphed into the cesspool we wade in today. Previous generations will be remembered for bestowing to the future the gifts of liberty, patriotism and self-sacrifice. Your generation's motto — sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll— is the sum of your meager contribution. We see the unintended consequences of allowing a generation of malcontents, who were handed the keys to the city on a silver platter, to rule the roost.

They deserve the blame them too. They are the first generation to leave the country worse than they found it.

Current generations have less earnings power, less purchasing power and are inheriting a staggering national debt. The social programs the boomers have pushed for have not worked and their war on drugs has accomplished nothing.

Way to go boomers. Good job. The sad part is they are patting themselves on the back and telling each other what a good job they have done.

As they say in France, f**k you all.
Let's just hate everyone! As a pre-boomer, and now a mean old lady, that is my motto.
Get a job,as my dear old WW II vet dad used to say. Hahahahaha.
And remember, no matter how much you hate old people, they hate you more!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:27 PM) :

Funny you should mention your WWII vet dad considering how much you boomers hated that generation. But what's one more contradiction with you people?

Blogger X-er said ... (6:23 PM) :

If you are truely a pre-boomer then aren't you a little upset at the state of the country?

I take it then you support the war in Iraq. Which would also imply that you think we should have continued to fight in Vietnam until.... When?

You belive that locking up drug addicts is better than getting them treatment even though treatment is a tenth the cost.

You like the fact that you are leaving your grandchildren and great-grandchildren a debt of $9 trillion ($9,000,000,000,000) (I think I got that right.)

I know how I would feel pretty sh1ty about that.

So, you confuses me. An in ability to empathize with others can cause many problems. I believe that is what is known as sociopathic behavior.

Are you a sociopath?

Oh, one more point. I don't hate old people. There are a lot of people that are older than the boomers that I highly respect.

There just aren't any boomers in that category.

Yet (I'm holding out some hope)(you never know there is always a few flukes out there in the world).

Oh yeah, let's bring back the good old days before the Boomers came along. Let's bring back racism and women who didn't get to have careers and all those other good old things that existed back then. How about lynching, and colored and white water fountains, and sexual oppression. Sure, there were good things in the previous generation. But it wasn't all good. And the Baby Boomer in Chief is not exactly a typical Baby Boomer. He wasn't part of the 60's revolution. He supported the Viet Nam war. Oh, but not enough to fight in it...

Blogger X-er said ... (7:45 AM) :

It's interesting that you say that because the civil right movement pretty much ended BEFORE the baby boomers came of age.

And do you think YOU ended the Vietnam war? Or did the political leaders finally realize that it was unwinnable? How many YEARS did it take Nixon to withdraw? After all, he ran the first time on ending the war.

If you lived through the history then why don't you know it?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:21 PM) :

Any meager contribution the boomers made to the civil rights movement is eclipsed by their shameless support for the drug war...

We now have the largest prison population in the world and the constitution is in tatters.

Thanks boomers!

Wouldn't those boomer bastards love to see a "love-in style" concentration camp set up in America for those of us who don't believe in their "one-world-one-people" myth vis-a-vis their new world economy. Fuck you boomers for fucking up America's future!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:59 PM) :

What is wrong with you people? Are you really that obtuse? Do you actually believe that an entire generation thinks, believes, behaves or conducts their lives in unison? My goodness, to level such venom on an entire generation of people is a form of mindless prejudice that rivals that of the most blatant racists our species has produced. Keep it up -- you are a candidate for membership in a club that history remembers well -- maybe you can fan the flames of hatred to rival the contributions of Hitler or Pol Pot, if you are lucky.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:47 PM) :

Your kids are going to talk about you worse than you do the boomers.

Just wait and see what kind of legacy your generation will leave.

You will wind up eating your words.

Ha ha ha in advance.

Thanks where you're wrong. I'm raising my children without the expectation that they will be evil when they are teenagers - they will just be typical teenagers with typical teenage problems that we'll try to help them with.
Our lives revolve around making this a better world for future generations. The world evolves around our children like it should.
It's the Boomers who created this whole expectation of generational conflict. It didn't exist (at least not close to the same extent) Ybefore they came along. our greed and selfishness makes you conflict with all other generations - who are not at war with each other.
